Russia does not intend to comply with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling requiring Georgian citizens to pay over 250 million euros, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated. When asked about the possibility of improving Russian-Georgian relations if the payment were made, Peskov noted that the Kremlin views this issue as a separate matter.

Lenur Khalilov, former chairman of the independent Muslim community "Alushta," who was sentenced to 18 years in prison and released from prison in August due to health reasons, was re-arrested following requests from the prosecutor's office. This was reported by lawyer Emil Kurbedinov.
The Crimean Tatar had previously been diagnosed with several illnesses, including primary liver cancer with lymph node metastases, chronic hepatitis C, stage II hypertension, small liver cysts, a cyst in his left kidney, and kidney stones. A court in the Arkhangelsk region ruled in late August that Khalilov could not be held in prison due to a malignant cancerous tumor. This condition is included in the list of illnesses that prevent him from serving a sentence.
Lenur Khalilov, Ruslan Mesutov, Ruslan Nagaev, and Eldar Kantimirov were detained in Alushta in 2019 following a series of searches. In 2021, the Southern District Military Court found them guilty of organizing and participating in a terrorist organization, as well as of preparing for the violent overthrow of the government based on their affiliation with Hizb ut-Tahrir, a party banned in Russia. Khalilov was sentenced to 18 years in a maximum-security penal colony.
