Berlin has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations. The decision, made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepoel, is intended to determine how to proceed, the ministry announced.

The Derbent City Court reduced the amount of compensation to Temirkhan Amakhanov for beating by police officers by 12 and a half times. He asked to pay five million rubles, but the court decided to collect 400 thousand.
In April 2016, two police officers, Gasan Adalov and Magomed Yunusov, broke into Amakhanov’s apartment by breaking down the front door. The victim believes that their visit was connected with his social activities, in particular with an appeal to the mayor's office and the prosecutor's office with a request to suspend construction work in their yard. According to Amakhanov, the security forces shot him and his wife several times and left.
In 2017, these police officers came to him again, allegedly because of a scandal in the family, and detained Amakhanov. The investigation established that he was beaten at the police station. After this, doctors diagnosed the man with a ruptured spleen and small intestine, as well as a fracture of the phalanx of the left finger.
The European Court of Human Rights ordered the Russian authorities to pay 26 thousand euros to Temirkhan Amakhanov, recognizing him as a victim of torture by security forces.
