Human rights activists reported torture of Crimean Tatar political prisoners.

The human rights organization KrymSOS recorded at least six cases of torture of Crimean Tatar political prisoners in 2022. They also suffer from ill-treatment and inadequate medical care.
In 2022, the Russian authorities held 116 political prisoners of Crimean Tatars. This was stated by the Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea.
