Human rights activists: "The disappeared ex-policeman from Chechnya had compromising information about the FSB and the CPE Ministry of Internal Affairs"

Almost two months have passed since the arrest of Yasin Khalidov, a former policeman from Chechnya, in the Omsk region while trying to leave Russia. The guy was handed over to the security forces from Chechnya, and since then his fate is unknown. This was reported in the Center for the Protection of Human Rights "Memorial".

According to human rights activists, Khalidov tried to resign from the police, he was unofficially detained and threatened. He could have information compromising the security forces, especially about employees of the Chechen TsPE and the FSB. We are talking about kidnappings, torture and falsification of criminal cases (including against Ukrainians in the occupied territories), executions, and organization of terrorist attacks.

Earlier, lawyers applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service for the Omsk Region, the National Guard of the Russian Federation regarding the whereabouts and procedural status of Yasin Khalidov. Nobody responded to inquiries. Human rights activists have reason to believe that his life is in danger.
