A human rights activist from Chechnya is threatened by the relatives of an Ingush woman who ran away from home and whom he gave a lift to.

Magomed Alamov, a lawyer for the Team Against Torture, accompanied 27-year-old Marina Yandieva from Ingushetia, who escaped from domestic violence. At first, relatives put Marina on the wanted list as missing, and then filed a complaint against her about the theft of jewelry.

According to KPP, Alamov received a call from the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia: they wanted to question him about Marina’s disappearance. Three days later, Chechen police officers forcibly brought Magomed’s brother to Kadyrov’s regiment: there they threatened him and demanded that the human rights activist return to Chechnya. Thus, Magomed and his relatives living in Chechnya became hostages.

The family of Marina Yandieva are influential people in Ingushetia, reports Team Against Torture. The girl’s aunt, Zarema Antoshkieva, holds the position of acting. Minister of Health of the Republic, and my uncle works in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia.

The girl's relatives threaten to kill Alamov and his family if she does not return home within a week. The “Team Against Torture” appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor’s office with a demand to ensure the safety of the employee and his family members.
