Georgia and Azerbaijan are striving to simplify border crossings: the parties plan to introduce a single-window system at joint border crossings.

Peace in Ukraine will contribute to the improvement of Georgia's relations with the EU and the United States. This was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
“I am confident that as soon as the regional and global situation becomes healthier, this will directly affect the improvement of Georgia’s relations with the European Union and the United States. We really hope that the war in Ukraine will end soon, Ukraine needs peace, and, of course, this will be one of the factors that will contribute to the improvement of our country’s relations with the EU and the USA,” Kobakhidze said.
He noted that much in relations between Tbilisi and the West deteriorated during the period when Kelly Degnan was the US Ambassador and Karl Hartzel was the EU Ambassador. Kobakhidze emphasized the need for a “reset” in relations and expressed hope for reciprocal steps from Western partners.
Recently, EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Gerchinsky said that the EU is going through the most difficult period in its relations with Georgia. He noted the negative impact of the law on foreign agents on Georgia's European aspirations. Gerchinsky added that next week the presidents and prime ministers of the EU countries will determine measures against Tbilisi in response to this law.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called on the Georgian government to “act in accordance with the country’s aspirations in the EU.” At a meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili on the sidelines of the peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland, von der Leyen thanked her for her “commitment to Georgia’s European future.”
