The President of Azerbaijan refused to meet with the Armenian Prime Minister for peace talks

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not go to Spain, where his meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was supposed to take place on October 5 with the participation of the leaders of France and Germany. The reason for this decision is the destructive position of France, as well as the disagreement of Paris and Berlin to participate in the meeting of Turkish President Recep Erdogan. Let us recall that in August, before the start of the Karabakh crisis, Azerbaijan and Armenia spoke about signing a peace treaty.

Today the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the main task of the EU is not to establish stability in the South Caucasus, but to provoke a situation. “It is the EU that is responsible for the fact that all trilateral agreements were replaced by summits on the territory of the EU countries. And Yerevan’s new position was formed under its influence; before that, Armenia had the opposite position,” noted Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova.
