Azerbaijani President Criticizes EU Mission, but Reaffirms Commitment to Peace with Armenia

The EU Monitoring Mission in Armenia is in fact an EU intelligence mission. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the opening ceremony of the 12th Global Baku Forum.
"They stand on our borders day and night, like spies, looking out to see if they can get in from somewhere. We also have enough intelligence information about such a "monitoring mission," he emphasized.
At the same time, Aliyev added that Azerbaijan is committed to the peace process in the South Caucasus and is the initiator of the peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan. According to him, the document is currently being discussed, most of the points of which have already been agreed upon.
