A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

In the Southern District Military Court, the state prosecutor requested 12 years of strict-regime colony for the Crimean Tatar Amethan Abdulwapov. He is accused of participating in the Islamic party «Hizb ut-Tahrir». It is recognized in the Russian Federation as a terrorist, but it operates legally in Europe and other continents.
According to the case file, Abdulwapov had no weapons, did not plan to commit a terrorist act or overthrow the political system in Russia. Nor has it encouraged others to carry out terrorist activities.
The prosecution’s case is traditionally based on the testimony of a hidden witness. In court, he reported that Amethan Abdulwap met in mid-2015 at the home of Imam Raif Fevziyev, later also convicted in the case «Hizb ut-Tahrir». According to the witness, several Muslim men gathered there and discussed religious issues. He did not, however, provide any examples of any unlawful activity by the defendant.
