Putin proposed three candidates for the post of head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic

Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted three candidates for election to the parliament of Kabardino-Balkaria for consideration.

The three candidates include the current head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Kazbek Kokov, the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the republic Ilyas Shavaev and a deputy of the republican parliament, CEO of ILAR LLC Aleksey Voitov.

According to the law, the head will be elected by deputies of the Kabardino-Balkarian parliament. The vote should take place no later than October 23.

The current head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Kazbek Kokov has held his position since 2019. His father, Valery Kokov, is the first president of the republic. Previously, Kokov Jr. held the position of deputy minister of agriculture of the region and was an adviser to the presidential administration on domestic policy.
