Putin singled out Chechnya among Russian regions in terms of birth rate
Russian President Vladimir Putin cited Chechnya and Tuva as an example to other regions, where the highest birth rate in the country is recorded. Answering a journalist's question during a direct line, the head of state said that these two regions do not need separate programs to stimulate the birth rate.

"In Chechnya and Tuva, everything is fine with demography. We have two such subjects of the federation. Do we need to do anything else? Just say thank you, support and let others follow your example," Putin said.

According to him, a separate program is needed for regions where the birth rate is less than 1.41.

"A separate support program of 75 billion rubles is being created for them for the next few years," the president added.

He also stated that the growth of the Russian economy this year could reach 3.9% and even 4%, inflation is only 9.2%–9.3%, incomes and wages grew faster than the production of goods, and unemployment in the country is at 2.3%, which, in his opinion, is “a very low level.”
