A paratrooper blogger from Dagestan previously convicted of discrediting the army was put in jail

A court in Kazan arrested blogger Askhabali Alibekov, known as the “Wild Paratrooper,” for two months. A criminal case was opened against him on charges of using violence against a police officer.

On February 20, about 15 security forces detained a blogger in Kazan. He said that he came there to become an observer in the presidential elections. The police attacked him, pushed him to the ground and beat him in the body and face.

In November 2023, a former serviceman and native of Dagestan, Askhabali Alibekov, was released from a colony in the Krasnodar Territory. Since September 2022, he has been imprisoned in a criminal case for “discrediting” the Russian army. According to the lawyer, Alibekov wanted to save his son from death in the war with Ukraine.
