The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
According to the RIA Rating study, the North Caucasus republics occupy the lowest places in the rating of Russian regions in terms of the number of high-productivity jobs. These positions are characterized by a salary level above the industry average.
Dagestan took the last place: there are only 85 high-productivity jobs per thousand workers. The situation is slightly better in neighboring Ingushetia, where the number of such jobs is 88 per thousand employees.
Kabardino-Balkaria is in 83rd place with a score of 111, Chechnya is in 82nd (115), Karachay-Cherkessia is in 81st, and North Ossetia is in 80th.
The leaders are regions with a developed raw materials sector of the economy. Thus, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is in the lead with an indicator of about 929 high-performance jobs per thousand employees. The Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is in second place - 875. The Nenets Autonomous Okrug is in third place with a figure of about 811 high-performance jobs per thousand employees.
