Relatives of a Crimean Tatar learned about his stay in a pretrial detention center more than a year later

Crimean Tatar Ismail Shemshedinov was found in Pretrial Detention Center No. 2 in Simferopol. On January 26, 2024, he was detained after a search. Since then, his relatives have not known where he is or why he was arrested.

The man's mother, Elzar Abibullaev, reported that about 20 security officials were present during the search. Equipment was taken from the house. The woman contacted various authorities, went to law enforcement agencies, but no one answered her. To this day, she does not know why her son was arrested or what he is guilty of.
