Following Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko warned Armenia about the risks of rapprochement with the European Union, accused the country's leadership of "political gamesmanship" before the elections, and hinted at the influence of European politicians on the situation in the republic.
In 2022, Kabardino-Balkaria recorded the greatest increase in real incomes compared to 2021.
According to Rosstat, in 2022, the incomes of Russians as a whole decreased by 1.4%, but in 12 regions their growth was recorded. The largest increase was recorded in Kabardino-Balkaria (+5.6%). The leaders were also the Khanty-Mansiysk and Chukchi autonomous districts (+3.1%), Yakutia (+2.3%), Tatarstan (+2.1%), Tyumen Oblast (+2%) and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (+1.4%). At the same time, Ingushetia entered the top ten outsiders with a fall of 6%.
Some of these regions have become leaders in retail sales growth correlated with household consumption, according to Rosstat. Thus, in Kabardino-Balkaria it amounted to 17 per cent and in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug to 4.5 per cent. Next are Krasnodar Krai (+8.4%), Tuva (+5.1%) and Kalmykia (+4.9%).
