On the night of August 26, the Rostov Oblast was subjected to a massive drone attack. According to Governor Yuri Slyusar, approximately 40 drones were destroyed over Taganrog and seven districts of the region: Tarasovsky, Millerovsky, Chertkovsky, Sholokhovsky, Matveyevo-Kurgansky, Kasharsky, and Bokovsky.

The aftermath of the attack was recorded in the Millerovsky district: dry grass caught fire after falling debris. The fire was extinguished, and there were no injuries. A 4.5-hectare forest fire was extinguished in the Kamensky district.

Rostov Oblast was not the only southern region under air defense operations overnight. The Ministry of Defense stated that drones were also destroyed over the Volgograd Oblast and Krasnodar Krai. Occupied Crimea was also hit. Authorities in the Volgograd and Krasnodar regions have not commented on the aftermath of the attack. Drones were launched from the Krasnodar region into Ukraine last night, and there are casualties there.

According to the Russian military, a total of 426 fixed-wing drones were intercepted overnight. In addition to the southern regions, they were allegedly shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Kaluga, Tula, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Tambov, Ryazan, and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as the Moscow region.

In the Lipetsk region, a drone crashed into a private home, killing a man and a child. In the Tambov region, drones attacked a Wildberries logistics center in Kotovsk. A fire broke out at the facility, and one employee suffered a concussion. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, one of Russia's largest oil refineries caught fire after an attack.
