In the Chegem district of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, a local court fined Alibek S., serving a sentence in Correctional Colony No. 1 in the village of Kamenka. The charge was based on a charge of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, under an article of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
The subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District are traditionally named the regions with the lowest vodka consumption in 2024. The minimum official sales were recorded in Chechnya - 0.05 liters per person (115 times less than the national average). At the same time, last year, the KBR and North Ossetia saw the greatest increase in vodka sales - +20.8% (up to 1.2 liters per capita) and +18.8% (up to 1.1 liters), respectively. Vodka sold best last year in the Far East and the North.
Sakhalin and Chukotka became the leaders in retail sales of vodka. There the figures were 11.8 and 11.7 liters per capita, respectively. Then, with a small gap, came Karelia (11.2 liters), Komi (10.6 liters) and Magadan Oblast (10.3 liters).
