An S7 Airlines flight from Moscow to Vladikavkaz made an emergency landing at an alternate airfield in Grozny due to adverse weather conditions.

According to passengers, the plane was in a holding pattern before diverting to the alternate airfield. The crew informed those on board that landing in Vladikavkaz was impossible due to a thunderstorm.

After landing in Grozny, the passengers remained on board. They said the wait lasted more than two hours. They also claim they were not provided with food during this time.

According to those on board, the subsequent flight was delayed due to adverse weather conditions. They also reported that the thunderstorm had spread to the Grozny area.

S7 Airlines later reported that the flight had arrived safely in Vladikavkaz.
