The abolition of the visa regime and the ban on flights from the Russian Federation to Georgia came into force today

Russia cancels the visa regime for citizens of Georgia from today. Bans for Russian airlines on flights to this country have also been lifted.

Flights from Tbilisi to Moscow may start in the next ten days. This was stated by the president of Georgian Airways Tamaz Gaiashvili. In addition to Georgian Airways, the Russian airline Azimuth plans to fly to Georgia.

Direct flights from Russia to Georgia were suspended in 2019. The Russians got there by connecting flights via Minsk, Yerevan, Baku and Istanbul, or by land transport.
