The investigation twice refused to investigate the abduction of Zarema Musayeva.

«The Team against Torture» submitted more than 60 petitions and complaints against the actions of the policemen, who were forcibly taken from Nizhny Novgorod to Chechnya Zarema Musaeva. Two lawyers were refused to initiate criminal proceedings against the security forces.
However, the Nizhny Novgorod Prosecutor’s Office found the act of the local investigation department, which forwarded the report of a crime against Zarema Musayeva to Chechnya to be unfounded.
It should be recalled that Musaeva is accused of violence against a representative of the government, dangerous to life and health (art. 318, paragraph 2). She allegedly scratched the face of a police officer when she was taken from Nizhny Novgorod to Chechnya. The examination did not confirm this fact. The woman has been detained for more than a year in Grozny remand centre.
