Nikita Zhuravel, held in a pre-trial detention center in Chechnya, could have been beaten by Kadyrov's son
The Chechen Instagram publics “ChP/Vainakh” and “ChP/Grozny” reported that Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested in the case of burning the Koran, was beaten in the Grozny pre-trial detention center. According to sources, one of the sons of Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam, did it.
“The incident happened after a visit to the pre-trial detention center by Ramzan Kadyrov. After his conversation with Zhuravel, Kadyrov Jr. deliberately stayed in the pre-trial detention center and, being alone with the defendant, arranged lynching, inflicting beatings on him, the severity of which is still unclear,” the publications say.
Recall, a student from Volgograd, Nikita Zhuravel, was detained on May 21 after a video appeared on social networks in which he burns the Koran in front of a mosque. According to the investigation, Zhuravel confessed that he had burned the Koran at the direction of the Ukrainian special services for a reward of 10,000 rubles. A criminal case was opened against him for insulting the feelings of believers. The young man was sent under arrest to Chechnya. On May 23, a video was published with his apologies to Muslims. On the same day, a rally against the burning of the Koran was held in Grozny, which, according to official figures, was attended by about 60,000 people.
