During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
Emma Tagaeva, co-chair of the “Voice of Beslan” committee, whose family died in the Beslan terrorist attack, addressed Putin.
The woman said: “For twenty years, the officials who gave the order to shoot at the school have not been punished. What did Navalny do? Who did he kill? Happy memory to Alexey, low bow to his mother.” She was also outraged that another political prisoner, Vladimir Kara-Murza, was given 25 years in prison.
As a result of the terrorist attack in Beslan in 2004, Tagaeva lost her husband and two sons, 14 and 16 years old. In her address, she emphasizes that this happened, among other things, due to the fault of Russian officials, who gave the order to storm the school with hostages.
In 2016, Tagaeva and five other women who lost their children and family members during the storming of a school were detained and beaten by police officers. Women came out wearing T-shirts with the inscription “Putin is the executioner of Beslan.”
