Berlin has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations. The decision, made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepoel, is intended to determine how to proceed, the ministry announced.

The Shalinsky City Court of Chechnya has begun considering a petition for the parole of Zarema Musaeva. A representative of the colony in the city of Argun, where she is being held, said that the goals of the punishment had not been achieved and opposed parole. The prosecution side adheres to the same position, the Team Against Torture reported.
The court will announce the final decision on December 12. As noted by lawyer Alexander Savin, Musaeva’s description says that during the three months she was in the colony, she did not receive disciplinary sanctions and did not violate the order.
Let us recall that in July, a court in Grozny found Zarema Musaeva guilty of using violence against a police officer and fraud and sentenced her to five years in prison. According to investigators, a woman scratched the face of a police officer from Chechnya while transporting her from Nizhny Novgorod to Grozny. In addition, she was accused of aiding a certain Madina Azimova, who fraudulently issued consumer loans to insolvent borrowers.
According to lawyers, given her state of health, Musaeva cannot serve her sentence. She suffers from type 2 diabetes and has had persistent nosebleeds and arm pain. The woman is the mother of Chechen activists Abubakar, Ibragim and Baysangur Yangulbaev. Human rights activists believe that she was kidnapped as a hostage and convicted of her sons’ opposition activities.
