The US imposed sanctions against Kadyrov's son-in-law and nephew
The United States has imposed sanctions on yet another number of representatives of Russian business and industry. The list included the son-in-law and nephew of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, First Deputy Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Salman Zakriev and his son Ibrahim (Yakub), who recently headed the nationalized Danone Russia company.
Since 2008, Salman Zakriev, married to Kadyrov’s sister, has always held the position of deputy chairman of parliament. Yakub Zakriev was previously deputy chairman of the government and minister of agriculture of Chechnya. In the summer, Kadyrov's nephew took over Danone in Russia, one of the largest dairy products companies, after its nationalization.
