Azerbaijani opposition journalist Afgan Mukhtarli commented on the house arrest and criminal prosecution of former head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, calling it logical and symbolic.
The court refused to disclose the identity of a secret witness in the case of Crimean Tatar political prisoners

At a hearing in the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, the judge refused the defense to disclose a secret witness under the pseudonym "Ibragimov." According to lawyer Emil Kurbedinov, this person is an agent of the state who wanders from one criminal case to another related to the Crimean Tatars.
When asked by the defense during interrogation, Ibragimov answered that he did not remember the details or would not answer, since this could reveal his personal information.
"It is convenient for the investigation to classify such witnesses, since they avoid questions that could expose their false testimony and information," Kurbedinov added.
Earlier, the court extended the arrest of Memet Lyumanov, Aziz Azizov, Rustem Osmanov and Mustafa Abduramanov. A criminal case has been opened against Crimean Tatars for participating in the political party Hizb ut-Tahrir. It is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia, but it operates legally in Ukraine, Europe and the world.
Searches in the homes of the defendants in the Bakhchisaray and Dzhankoy districts of Crimea took place in early March. In addition to the aforementioned individuals, five more detainees were placed under arrest. These are Enver Khalillayev, Nariman Ametov, Ali Mamutov, the imam of the mosque in the village of Lobanovo, Vakhid Mustafayev, and activist Arsen Kashka.
