European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas stated that the Georgian government's current policies are not aligned with the European Union's direction. Arriving at the EU summit in Brussels, she emphasized the EU's support for the Georgian people but expressed disagreement with the Georgian government's actions. Kallas stated that the country's leadership is leading Georgia "in the wrong direction," which is hindering the process of European integration.
Over 400 people were brought to justice for participating in the pogrom in Makhachkala
The courts of Dagestan brought 412 people to administrative responsibility after the anti-Semitic pogrom at Makhachkala airport on October 29. In relation to 394 people, protocols were drawn up under the article on violation of the procedure for holding actions. Another 18 people were charged under the article on organizing mass simultaneous presence of citizens in public places.
After the incident, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under the article on mass riots. 27 people were arrested as part of the case.
On October 29, Salafi activists staged a pogrom at Makhachkala airport demanding that passengers on a flight from Tel Aviv not be allowed into the city. As a result, more than 200 demonstrators were detained.
