Akhmat Kadyrov—the eldest son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, who serves as the republic's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Culture and Sports—has been awarded the honorary title "Nokhchiyn Pachkhalkhan Qonakh" ("Hero of the Chechen State"). Ramzan Kadyrov himself signed the decree conferring the title.

The award ceremony took place during an event marking National Physical Culture Day. According to the decree, the title was awarded for "personal services to the Chechen Republic and its people," as well as for contributions to the development of physical culture and sports.

Chechen Prime Minister Magomed Daudov stated that the award recognizes Akhmat Kadyrov’s work in developing sports infrastructure, supporting young athletes, and implementing sports-related projects. He noted that, under the ministry's leadership, the republic continues to create conditions for training new champions and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Akhmat Kadyrov has held the posts of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Sports since 2024. During this time, he has received a number of state and regional awards.

Unlike his younger brother Adam, Akhmat Kadyrov receives state awards far less frequently, though this latest title is by no means his first honor. Despite his youth, Adam Kadyrov has received dozens of departmental, regional, and state awards in recent years, including the title of Hero of the Chechen Republic, orders and medals from several Russian regions, and various honorary titles. His numerous awards have frequently sparked media discussion, drawn criticism from human rights activists, and become a source of ridicule among critics of the Kadyrov family.
