Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." This was reported by the human rights project "Slovo Zashchite" (Word for the Defense).
State Duma Deputy Adam Delimkhanov and Minister of National Policy and Press of the Republic Akhmed Dudayev congratulated Adam Kadyrov, the 15-year-old son of Ramzan Kadyrov, “on his appointment to a responsible position in the security service of the Head of the Chechen Republic.”
On September 25, Kadyrov Sr. published a video of Adam beating student Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested for burning the Koran, in a pre-trial detention center. The head of Chechnya said that he was proud of his son’s action. On October 4, the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to initiate a criminal case against Adam Kadyrov due to the fact that “he has not reached the age of criminal responsibility.”
At the same time, Adam Kadyrov was awarded the title “Hero of the Chechen Republic”, the second most important award of Tatarstan - the Order of Duslyk, as well as the Order of Merit for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
