A Moscow court has arrested 23-year-old Timur Bazhaev until September 26. A criminal case has been opened against the son of Chechen billionaire Musa Bazhaev under the article on the use of violence against a government official.
According to the official version, Timur Bazhaev started a fight with the police in response to a search. The incident took place on the evening of July 27 in Moscow, near the Luzhniki stadium. The young man, violating public order, got into a conflict with a police officer and hit him when he wanted to go to the Lastochka restaurant, the investigation said.
Timur Bazhaev himself said in court that a Moscow Interior Ministry colonel attacked him first. He asked the police officers how to get to a closed restaurant, and in response he heard swearing and insults. According to Bazhaev, the security officer attacked first, and he had to fight back.
58-year-old Musa Bazhaev said earlier that he does not intend to “fight particularly hard” and if his son is guilty and “he is involved somewhere, he will answer.”
