Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the country's authorities have no plans to return to the pro-Russian military-political bloc, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This position is included in the election platform of his Civil Contract party ahead of the June 7 parliamentary elections.
Yuri Chaika, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District, stated that a significant portion of the utility infrastructure in the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District is in critical condition. According to him, more than a third of the networks require complete replacement.
He noted that to address the situation, the Russian Ministry of Construction has planned large-scale work as part of the federal project "Modernization of Utility Infrastructure." It is expected that 565 housing and utility facilities and approximately 20,800 kilometers of utility networks will be reconstructed and upgraded in the district's regions.
The housing and utility and energy development programs, within the framework of which this work will be carried out, are already in effect in three republics: Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia. More than 7 billion rubles from the federal budget will be allocated for the implementation of these projects in 2026-2027.
