A Turkish military plane crashed on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border

A Turkish C-130 military transport plane crashed in eastern Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan. It was en route from Azerbaijan to Turkey and disappeared from radar shortly after entering Georgian airspace.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the plane crashed near the Sighnaghi municipality, approximately five kilometers from the border. Georgian Air Navigation reported that no distress signal was transmitted; the plane disappeared suddenly. There were 20 people on board, including the crew.

Turkey has already dispatched rescue units from the Turkish Agency for Emergency Management (AFAD) to Georgia. Search and rescue operations are being conducted jointly with Georgian and Azerbaijani services.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed the crash, but the cause of the crash is still unknown. Efforts are ongoing at the scene, and details about the condition of the crew and passengers have not yet been released.
