Protesters in Georgia put forward demands

Thousands of residents of Tbilisi and other cities of Georgia once again protested against the law on foreign agents. The day before, the protesters declared disobedience to the authorities until the bill was withdrawn, putting forward a number of demands.

In particular, people demand the release of all detainees and punishment of security forces who used violence against protesters (rubber bullets, tear gas, beatings).

The day before it became known that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze refused a visit to the United States. The reason, according to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, is that the American side allegedly demanded to suspend parliamentary consideration of the bill on foreign agents. US State Department spokesman Ned Price denied these statements and did not rule out the possibility of imposing sanctions against Tbilisi.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu spoke in support of the participants in the rallies against the bill and the Georgian opposition. “Moldova stands with the people of Georgia, who demonstrate unwavering courage and deep commitment to democracy and freedom,” she wrote on social networks.
