Berlin has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations. The decision, made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepoel, is intended to determine how to proceed, the ministry announced.

The request of the Prosecutor General's Office to change the territorial jurisdiction of the case of five participants in the riots at the Makhachkala airport was granted by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. The case was transferred for consideration to the Armavir District Court of the Krasnodar Territory.
The defendants are accused under Part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in mass riots), one of them also under Part 2 of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a representative of the authorities that is dangerous to life or health).
As follows from the indictment, on October 29, 2023, the defendants arrived at Uytash airport in Makhachkala in order to search for passengers arriving on a flight from Tel Aviv. They resisted police officers and entered the secure area of the airport, including the runway.
According to lawyers, the change in territorial jurisdiction is illegal and violates the constitutional rights of those involved in the case.
In total, more than 130 people are in pre-trial detention center in connection with this criminal case. Most of them are charged with participation in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code). Also, the courts received over 800 protocols under articles on violation of the rules for holding rallies and organizing the simultaneous presence of citizens (20.2 and 20.2.2 of the Administrative Code).
Let us recall that on October 29, 2023, residents of Dagestan burst into the Makhachkala airport demanding that passengers on a flight from Tel Aviv not be allowed into the city. The action took place within the framework of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
