Abkhazia assured that in 2025, Russia will allocate more than 5 billion rubles to the republic
Russia will continue to support Abkhazia, allocating 5.2 billion rubles in 2025. This was reported by acting Minister of Finance of the unrecognized republic, Vladimir Delba.
The official noted that the cancellation of the ratification of the investment agreement with Russia aggravated the financing situation.
Let us remind you that in December, Abkhazia asked the Russian Federation for help due to the energy collapse. After that, Moscow started humanitarian supplies of electricity. Earlier, Russia banned trips to Abkhazia, leaving it with a flow of tourists, which was the main source of its income.
The authorities of Abkhazia have repeatedly noted the lack of financial resources for the payment of salaries to state employees. There was also a shortage of money for the salaries of security forces. Prior to that, Abkhazia refused to conclude an economic agreement with Russia on investments, as its possible adoption had sparked mass protests. This agreement was the subject of harsh criticism from the opposition. Many residents were afraid that the arrival of Russian business in the unrecognized republic would leave them without work. In addition, Russian companies intended to build apartments here, which would lead to an increase in housing prices.
