In Armenia, the Belarusian Embassy was pelted with eggs due to Lukashenko's statements

The Belarusian Embassy in Yerevan was pelted with eggs, tomatoes and potatoes. The protesters demanded the severance of diplomatic relations with Minsk.

The reason for the protest was Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's criticism of Armenia regarding its "policy of reorientation towards the West", as well as his statements that "Armenia is not needed by anyone" except for the Russian Federation and Belarus.

In June, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the cancellation of official visits to Belarus. According to him, at least two CSTO member countries in 2020 "took part in the preparation of the Karabakh war, but not on the side of Armenia." He did not name these countries. Then Armenia and Belarus mutually recalled their ambassadors for consultations.
