The film "The Letter," about the deportation of the Ingush people, has been banned in Ingushetia. The republic's Ministry of Culture has refused to hold the premiere of Amur Amerkhanov's film, despite it having received a federal grant and having been shown in other regions.
In Yerevan, a procession began to the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was organized by the leader of the “Tavush in the name of the Motherland” movement Bagrat Galstanyan. He demanded an explanation from the head of the police about yesterday’s incident with representatives of the Armenian clergy.
On May 28, the police did not allow Patriarch of All Armenians Karekin II and other representatives of the Armenian clergy into the Sadrarapat memorial complex. The reason given was the involvement of Garegin II in the political processes initiated by Galstanyan.
Interior Minister Vahe Ghazaryan agreed to a meeting with Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, but “in a different format,” as reported by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Protests in Armenia began after Galstanyan’s call. The reason was the decision to delimitate borders with Azerbaijan: Yerevan must give four settlements to Baku. Protesters are demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Today he said that he considers it possible to soon sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan.
