Armenian law enforcement agencies have detained 14 activists of the Strong Armenia opposition party, led by Russian oligarch Samvel Karapetyan. The head of the party's office has been charged with violating the legal ban on charitable donations, according to party spokesperson Ghramanyan.
Three men, including twin brothers and adult schoolchildren, have been arrested in Yerevan in connection with an incident at St. Anne's Church. As Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was leaving the church after the liturgy, a parishioner attacked him, swinging his arm at the politician and shouting, "Don't look at me like that!"
The attacker missed. The incident also involved Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan.
A criminal case has been opened on charges of hooliganism and interference in the activities of an official. Pashinyan emphasized that the police are acting within their authority and do not require further instructions.
In recent months, several cases of persecution of citizens in cases related to Nikol Pashinyan have been recorded in Armenia. On March 23, it was reported that criminal charges had been brought against a resident of the country who expressed a desire to shoot down the prime minister's plane with a drone. Earlier, in late February, blogger Hayk Yeghyan was arrested on charges of insulting Pashinyan. In May 2025, a Yerevan resident was suspected of publicly calling for violence for a comment about surrendering Armenian territories under an article about the country's leader.
