Azerbaijan declares Day of Mourning over Embraer plane crash
According to the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, December 26 has been declared a Day of Mourning in memory of the victims of the AZAL plane crash.
 
On December 25, an Embraer plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. There were 67 people on board, including 42 citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 of Russia, 6 of Kazakhstan and 3 of Kyrgyzstan. According to the latest information, 29 passengers survived.
 
A State Commission has been established by order of the President to investigate the causes of the plane crash, and an Azerbaijani delegation is currently in Aktau.
 
In connection with the mourning, flags are lowered in Azerbaijan, and the lights on the New Year trees in Baku are extinguished.
 
7 Russian citizens died, another 9 survived the plane crash. The list of the dead included Ramin Agayev, Muhammadali Yeganov, Zaira Atsayeva, Narmina Igidova, Ismail Ismailov, Zinat Saiduloev and Arbi Ubayev.

Turkey has abolished the "foreigner" status for citizens of Turkic states, signing a decree simplifying their employment. Now, residents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will be able to work and do business in Turkey without citizenship or special permits (except for military and security service).
