Azerbaijan confirms version of Embraer hit by air defense systems, while Russia awaits results of official investigation
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated that attempts to speculate on human grief are absolutely unacceptable. According to him, the Russian side proceeds from the fact that before drawing any conclusions, it is necessary to wait for the results of the official investigation.

“A relevant commission is working in Aktau. The competent authorities of Russia and Azerbaijan are interacting with each other,” the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation said.

Azerbaijan Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev expressed solidarity with Azerbaijan Airlines that the wreckage of the Embraer 190 and witness testimony indicate that the airliner was impacted from outside.

“The injured passengers and surviving flight attendants said that they heard an explosion when they were over Grozny. One of the flight attendants was even wounded in the arm,” the minister noted.
