In Crimea, police officers issued human rights activist Abdureshit Dzhepparov a warning against violating the law. Law enforcement officials explained the document's origins in connection with the upcoming holiday on May 9th, but such actions typically occur shortly before the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatar People (May 18th).
PACE was criticized in Azerbaijan for not admitting its delegation
Official Baku strongly condemns the biased decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) regarding Azerbaijan. This was stated by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Bayramov called the reason for this position on the part of PACE the restoration by Azerbaijan of its sovereignty and territorial integrity in Karabakh.
“We must openly say that PACE has always had different opinions regarding the processes in our country. The Azerbaijani delegation, in accordance with this, expressed an adequate position,” the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized.
Previously, PACE did not ratify the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation to the organization. The decision was made by 76 votes in favor and 10 against.
