Serious crimes increased by 21% in Chechnya and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic
According to the results of 2024, the increase in the number of serious and especially serious crimes in Chechnya and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic was 21% - from 648 to 825 cases and from 1245 to 1583 cases, respectively.
 
The largest increase in serious and especially serious crimes was recorded in Adygea: from 1176 in 2023 to 1682 in 2024 - almost a third. Their number increased from 667 to 895 in Kalmykia - this is the second region in the country in terms of crime growth rates.
 
In North Ossetia, the increase was almost 2%, in Kabardino-Balkaria - 7%, in Dagestan - 10%. The only North Caucasian republic where crime decreased was Ingushetia - a 30% drop was recorded. Overall, Russia has seen growth of 4.6%.
