A new hafiz school has opened in Chechnya

A new hafiz school, designed to accommodate 100 students, has opened in the village of Novy Sharoy in the Achkhoy-Martan District of the Chechen Republic. The school is named after Ali ibn Abu Talib, the fourth righteous caliph and cousin of the Prophet Muhammad.

The school's opening ceremony was attended by the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov; the Mufti of the Chechen Republic, Salah-Khadzhi Mezhiyev; the Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic, Magomed Daudov; the Head of the Administration of the Head and Government of the Chechen Republic, Galas Taymaskhanov; representatives of the administration, elders, and religious and community leaders of the village.

According to Kadyrov, this hafiz school is the eleventh such educational institution in the republic. Construction began in January 2025. Optimal conditions for living and studying the Quran have been created. The basement includes utility rooms, a gym, a laundry room, a book depository, and a storage room. The first floor houses classrooms, an ablution room, a prayer hall, and a dining room. The second floor is dedicated to bedrooms, a medical room, showers, staff offices, and a prayer hall.

"I am confident that the school will give our people new representatives of the younger generation who will know the Holy Quran by heart. Last year alone, 334 people became hafiz. Since the opening of the first religious institution, 2,150 hafiz have graduated. This is a tremendous blessing from Allah Almighty, which we all cherish," Kadyrov shared.
