Overnight into August 24, drones attacked several regions in southern Russia. The consequences were most tragic in Krasnodar: drone debris fell on a private children's center, killing two children and injuring seven other children and two adults. This was reported by Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Krasnodar Krai.
Three members of the Amaev family who died in the Sunzha River a day earlier were laid to rest on August 10 in the village of Samashki in Chechnya’s Sernovodsky district. The funeral was held for 15-year-old Yasin and his uncles, Khamzat and Shamil, who lost their lives while trying to rescue the teenager.
As New DOSH previously reported, the tragedy occurred on August 9 while the family was отдыхing on the riverbank. Yasin entered the water and was caught in a dangerous section of the river with a powerful whirlpool. His father was the first to attempt a rescue, followed by his two brothers. The father managed to reach the shore, but the teenager and both men were swept away by the current.
Relatives tried to rescue them before emergency services arrived, but were unable to do so. Rescue workers, assisted by local residents, later recovered the three bodies from the river.
Residents of Samashki gathered on August 10 to pay their final respects to the victims. Photos and videos from the funeral ceremony were widely shared on social media, while thousands of people in Chechnya and other regions continued to offer condolences to the Amaev family's relatives.
