In Chechnya, a school teacher apologized for a statement about Christians
A school teacher from Chechnya, Mansur Zhabrailov, made a public apology for provocative statements about Christianity. Earlier, he called Orthodox Christians "tritheists" and Jesus Christ a "Greek humanoid."

"Now I realize that I was wrong not only from the point of view of the law, but also from the point of view of religion. And when, responding to those people who unfairly polemicized against my religion and insulted me, I forgot that I could insult those people who were not involved in this," he said.

Zhabrailov noted that in Chechnya, insulting religions or "belittling" believers is unacceptable, which "first of all is prohibited by Islam."

The day before, the regional Minister for National Policy, Akhmed Dudayev, reported that Zhabrailov had been fired from the school.

“There is no doubt that this person will receive the most severe punishment within the framework of the laws of the Russian Federation,” Dudayev said.
