Chechnya expressed dissatisfaction with the blocking of Telegram
Chechnya called for a review of the decision to block the Telegram messenger. Residents of the region have the same right to receive and disseminate information as other citizens of the Russian Federation, said Minister of National Policy, External Relations and Information Akhmed Dudayev.

“Blocking any platform due to the activities of individual provocateurs is irrational. Instead of introducing restrictions, it is necessary to develop a strategy to combat such phenomena on this platform. According to official statistics, the Chechen Republic is one of the safest regions of Russia,” Dudayev wrote on his Telegram channel.

He “strongly urged” to review this decision, without specifying who exactly he was addressing.

On March 8, it became known that Telegram was blocked in Dagestan and Chechnya for reasons of information security. The Minister of Digital Development of Dagestan, Yuri Gamzatov, explained that “it is often used by enemies.”
