A group of FSB officers arrived in Dagestan following the appointment of a new leadership

The new acting head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, has decided to dismiss the entire republican government. Magomed Ramazanov, who served as deputy presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Far Eastern Federal District and has experience with the FSB, was previously appointed to the vacant position of chairman of the regional government by presidential decree.

According to a source on the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, a group of FSB central office officers has been sent to Dagestan to resolve issues related to the activities of the previous leadership. Most of them are former colleagues of Magomed Ramazanov from the FSB's Directorate "K."

Initially, the country's leadership planned to transfer former Dagestan head Sergei Melikov to a federal ministry, and he expressed tentative consent. However, in his farewell address, Melikov stated his intention to assist Fyodor Shchukin in adapting to his new position. A source with the Cheka-OGPU believes this decision was prompted not only by an unsuccessful attempt to become plenipotentiary representative in the Siberian Federal District, but also by a desire to oppose the Moscow team and influence the formation of Dagestan's candidate lists for the State Duma elections.

The presidential decree announcing Melikov's resignation stated that it was "at his own request." This is at odds with his previous public statements, in which he emphasized his willingness to serve in any position offered by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and had no plans for early retirement. His resignation occurred following massive flooding in Dagestan.
