In Dagestan, a young man who drowned in the Irganai Reservoir has been missing for four days

In the Untsukul District of Dagestan, the search for a young man who drowned in the Irganai Reservoir continues for the fourth day. The Republic's Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported on the progress of the rescue operation.

According to the agency, four rescuers and three pieces of equipment have been deployed to survey the waters. The search is being conducted using an RB-600 remotely operated underwater vehicle and an echo sounder. Volunteers from Chechnya and Ingushetia have joined the operation.

Rescuers have already managed to survey a significant portion of the reservoir bottom. However, diving is not being carried out: the depth in some areas exceeds 50 meters, and the search is complicated by the complex bottom topography and limited visibility.

According to the latest data, approximately 1,700 square meters of the seabed have been surveyed using a submersible, and another 1,250 square meters have been examined using an echo sounder.

The search was suspended after dark. Rescuers plan to resume work on the morning of August 31.

The tragedy occurred on August 25. A group of young people went paddleboarding on the Irganai Reservoir. During the ride, one of the young men lost control and ended up in the water.
