In Dagestan, two former National Guard members were released from punishment for shooting the head of a village

The Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala found two former employees of the Russian Guard, brothers Salman and Suleiman Kurbanov, guilty of manslaughter and sentenced them to minor terms - 1 year 4 months and 1 year and 6 months, respectively. In February 2021, in the building of the Sovetsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Makhachkala, they shot their fellow villager, the head of the village of Novokuli, Abakar Kaplanov.

The examination confirmed that at the time of the commission of the incriminated act the defendants were in a state of passion. The ex-Rosguard members were released from criminal prosecution due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

The brothers had a conflict with an official. According to the court, in 2008, in the village of Novolak, the Kurbanovs’ father was beaten with the participation of Kaplanov. Then the conflict continued, including over a plot of land in the center of the village of Novostroy, owned by one of the brothers.

As a result, during the next conflict in the police department in the Sovetsky district of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Makhachkala, the Kurbanovs fired a number of shots at Kaplanov: each - at least 18. The official was killed.
