One of three individuals detained in Tbilisi on charges of espionage was 27-year-old Tamaz Goloev (Goloti), a native of Akhalgori, a town in the territory of South Ossetia not controlled by Georgian authorities. This was reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Georgian service.
In Makhachkala, Murtazali Gasanguseinov held a solo picket in front of the Investigative Committee building, demanding justice in the investigation into the deaths of his sons. For several years, he has been seeking access to the case materials, but has been denied access.
In August 2016, Gasangusein (18) and Nabi (17), who were working as shepherds, were killed near the village of Goor-Khindakh in Dagestan. According to some reports, the young men were mistaken for "militants" and shot by security forces. The already dead brothers were then dressed in camouflage jackets and armed.
Despite Vladimir Putin's order to Alexander Bastrykin to conduct an investigation following a question posed at a press conference in 2018, the case remains unsolved, and Murtazali Gasanguseinov continues to seek the truth.
