Dagestan sees no need to block Telegram
The socio-political situation in Dagestan has been and remains stable, and there is no need to block Telegram for a long time. This was stated by the head of the regional Ministry of Digital Development, Gamzatov.

According to him, many users are forced to resort to using VPN services to access the messenger, which increases the risks associated with the leakage of personal data and violation of privacy.

“We hope that the federal authorities will be able to find a balance between ensuring security and respecting the rights of citizens to free communication,” Gamzatov said.

The day before, Chechnya’s Minister for National Policy, External Relations and Press, Akhmed Dudayev, recalled that his republic is one of the safest regions of the Russian Federation. He called for a review of the decision to block Telegram, since residents of Chechnya “have the same right to receive and disseminate information as other citizens of our country.”
